Hotel Kervansaray offers you assistance in discovering the delights of this historical environment. A trip fitting your own requirements can be arranged by us. The most interesting possibilities are:
1. Nemrut Dağ. You can visit either at sunrise or sunset. Sitting on the highest mountain in the area is really a unique experience.
2. Nemrut Dağ. You can also visit between the hours of 10.00 - 15.00 when you will rarely find other tourists on the mountain. This is a perfect time to explore the monument and to be at one with the Gods.
3. Tour other interesting historical places (without Nemrut!). We leave early in the morning and go to Karakuş, Cendere, Eski Kahta and Arsameia. We will have a pleasant lunch in Damlacik and there is also an opportunity to swim.
4. A small trip by foot through the mountains. We will walk from the valley underneath Nemrut Dağ to one of the most beautiful villages surrounding the monument. In Horik you will experience the hospitality of the local people. Tea and ayran will be served together with the bread which the village is renowned for throughout Eastern Turkey. After finishing your light lunch you will be transported back to our hotel.
5. Tour number 4 with a visit to Arsameia. We will also take care of your transportation to Arsameia and back to our hotel.
6. Tour number 5 and a visit to Nemrut. We will also take care of your transportation to Arsameia, Nemrut and back to our hotel. This is a full program but is certain to be a memorable day.
7. This tour will reward you with many unexpected sights! Much of the kingdom of Kommagene is not fully excavated and is still as it was for hundreds of years. One of these unexcavated places is near the town of Gerger. Gerger Kalesi (the Castle of Gerger) is named after the local population. On top of a rock which features the image of King Samos, the remains of a Selçuk castle and many other remnants from earlier Kommagene times can be seen. It appears as if the former Kommagene king is greeting us from afar. You will get to know many details about Arsameia on the Euphrates River. The climb to the top is not easy. If you are not in good condition we strongly advise you book another tour. We climb to great heights, take narrow and difficult paths and look down into deep ravines. If, however, you choose to go on this tour you will not be sorry. Real adventures still exist!!
